AKF Journey Mythic Charm Refining Priority Tier List!

Hello everyone!

In today's blog, we’ll be breaking down a refining priority tier list for Mythic Charms—just in time for the upcoming reset. With the next phase of Dura Trials on the horizon, we’ll soon be able to refine our Mythic Charms and unlock powerful bonus stats for our key heroes. Knowing which charms to prioritize can make all the difference in maximizing your team’s potential.

Three different categories which are a Dream Realm, Primal Lord and AFK Stages. Let’s dive into which charms deserve your immediate attention—and why.

Primal Lord

Overview and Rewards

In this collaborative boss battle, players work together to defeat Magmazard, a giant lava lizard, with three attempts per day to inflict maximum damage in a single fight, where rewards are based on the best score.

The quicker the server defeats Magmazard, the better the loot for all.

Rewards include: Temporal and Twilight Essences, Diamonds, Dura’s Tokens, Normal Invite Letters, and A-level Soulstones, with top 50 performers in the district earning exclusive titles and frames. Once Magmazard falls, the Eternal Inscription immortalizes your achievements.

Tier List

When it comes to optimizing your performance in the Primal Lord mode, there are four primary damage-dealing heroes to focus on: Atalanta, Viperian, Marilee, and Saida. However, not all players will have each of these heroes fully built, so your refining strategy should align with your current roster.

(Note: For this specific tier, the hero on the left is the most important, while conversely, the one on the right is the least important.)

Saida is a powerful option, but she requires significant investment—specifically, Exclusive Equipment at +15 or higher—to be truly effective. Unless you’ve already built her to this level, she likely isn’t a viable choice for most players. If you do meet the requirements, refining her charms should be a high priority.

For those using an Atalanta-based team, she is undoubtedly the top candidate for charm refining. Her performance is essential to this composition, and enhancing her charms will yield noticeable gains. If you don’t have Atalanta or only possess a single copy that isn’t functional in your lineup, shift your focus to Viperiann and Marilee. These two heroes form a strong damage core in many non-Adalanta team variations.

Regarding charm recommendations:

• Marilee performs best with Overloaded Charms.
• Atalanta also benefits greatly from Overloaded Charms, while Saida excels with Blast Charms.
• For Viperian, the optimal charm set is still under evaluation. Early testing suggests Insight Charms are a reliable choice, but we advise waiting another day or two for more conclusive results before fully investing.

Plan your refining resources accordingly, and prioritize based on both your available heroes and the remaining duration of the Primal Lord event.

 

Dream Realm

Overview and Rewards

In AFK Journey, an engaging game, the "Dream Realm" section is known for its daily Boss challenges, where players can fight through different difficulty levels to earn valuable rewards. Every time a player successfully defeats a level of a particular Boss, they can immediately challenge the next Boss of a higher level.

In this mysterious dream realm, players have ten opportunities per day to achieve the highest score and receive corresponding rewards for doing so. Each challenge is a test of the player's strategy and reflexes, as each Boss has unique skills and attributes that make each battle fresh and challenging. For example, the Skyclops are known for their powerful air strikes, while the King Croaker is elusive with its deep water attacks. The Snow Stomper shows surprising strength in the frozen landscape, and the Lone Gaze looks into the battlefield with its lonely, deep gaze. Alpha Bear dominates the forest with his massive size and strength, while Necrodrakon is known among the dragons for his undead body and powerful magic.

The difficulty of each Boss is different, and players need to adjust their battle strategy according to the characteristics of the Boss. As the difficulty increases, the rewards available to the player become more enticing. Therefore, players need to constantly try and learn to find the best way to fight to overcome each challenge. Dream Realm is not only a platform to earn rewards, but also a stage for players to demonstrate their combat skills and wisdom. 

Tier List

Dream Realm stands as one of the most crucial game modes in AFK Journey. Refining charms here directly enhances your heroes' attack stats, which significantly boosts your total damage score and ranking rewards. Here’s a structured priority list to help you make strategic refining decisions:

Top Priority Refinements

T0
Shemira	Ludovic

• Shemira: Undoubtedly the highest priority. She remains essential in most top-tier boss compositions. Refining her charms will dramatically increase both her personal damage and your overall score.
• Ludovic: Also extremely important. If you already have Insight or Butcher charms equipped on him, refine them immediately. He is currently used in multiple high-ranking Dream Realm teams.

High Priority Refinements

T1
Baelran	Pandora

• Baelran: If you have built him to Supreme Plus or higher and are using him in Dream Realm, refining his Insight charms is highly recommended.
• Pandora: If she is part of your core team—especially in level 12 Dream Realm formations—refining her Blast charms should be a priority.

Moderate Priority Refinements

T2
Harak	Daimon	Smokey & Meerky
Hugin	Velara	Sonja
Sinbad

• Harak: Currently used in one specific level 12 team (e.g., vs. Necroen). While not universally essential, if she is a major damage dealer in your lineup and you have her exclusive item (“her belt”), refining her Butcher charms is advised over Balance charms.
• Daimon: Appears in multiple Dream Realm and even Primal Lord teams. Refine his Mystic.
• Smokey & Meerky: Recovering charms to improve his meaningful damage output.
• Hugin: Although his personal damage is low, refining his Blast charms increases his attack, which scales the attack buff he provides to allies. This indirectly boosts team damage, but his priority is lower than pure damage dealers.
• Velara: A complex case. For Primal Lord, Sorcery charms are best, but Mystic and Blast also work. In Dream Realm, optimal charm sets vary by boss. Choose one set to refine for stat gains, but note that it may not be universally efficient since she uses different sets across modes.
• Sonja and Sinbad: Sonja benefits greatly from Arcane charms, Sinbad best-in-slot for boss Elucia is Balance charms—refine these if that’s his main use. Gale charms are suboptimal in his ideal team.

Lower Priority Refinements

T3
Kruger	Shakir	Phraesto
Cryonaia	Elijah and Lailah

• Kruger & Shakir: Nocturnator users. Refining their charms (Blast for Shakira, Mystic for Krueger) offers slight damage gains but isn’t critical.
• Phraesto: Largely fell out of the meta and is now mainly used as Heroic fodder. Refining his charms provides minimal score improvement.
• Cryonaia: Only used in one niche Dream Realm boss team (with her Legendary red charm likely being sufficient). Outside of that, she is primarily a PVP hero. Butcher or Sorcery charms are best for PVP, but refining her charms is not a priority for PVE.
• Twins (Elijah and Lailah): While their Sorcery charms are a notable upgrade, refining them has low impact since the twins contribute negligible damage. Not recommended for early refining resources.

Focus your initial refining resources on core damage dealers like Shemira and Ludovic, then move to supporting carries like Baelran and Pandora. Niche or support heroes should only be refined after your main carries are optimized. Always consider whether a hero’s use case justifies the investment, especially when charm sets vary across game modes.

While refining charms offers stat boosts across all game modes, its impact varies significantly depending on a hero's role. For support-oriented heroes like the Twins, refining provides minimal benefit due to their negligible damage output. Consequently, they rank very low on the priority list, though they are included for comprehensive coverage due to their relevance in Dream Realm compositions.

 

AFK Stages

Overview and Rewards

AFK Stages are a core game mode where players progress through increasingly difficult levels, earning rewards and improving their heroes. Advancing through these stages is crucial for overall account progression, providing resources for leveling up heroes and unlocking new content.

Tier List

For AFK Stages, however, refining charms is far more impactful for specific carry heroes. Here is the recommended priority and setup:

• Tasi (Highest Priority): Equip Blast Charms. Refining them is crucial as she is the primary damage dealer capable of carrying your progression in this mode.
• Faramor: Arcane Charms are the recommended best-in-slot, though Mystic Charms remain a viable alternative. Refining her charms will enhance her supportive damage output.
• Cyran & Walker (Lightbird Team Core): This duo is a staple for AFK stage pushing.
  • Cyran: excels at crowd control. Destructive Charms are considered her optimal choice.
  • Walker: His ideal charm set is less definitive. Butcher Charms are a speculative best option, but any well-upgraded set will provide a valuable stat boost for AFK Stages and potentially for Ravage mode as well.
• Bonnie: While not a meta pick for AFK Stages, she is a solid overall hero. Sorcery Charms are the universally recommended set for her, and refining them is a sound investment for her general utility.

 

Conclusion

For the initial stages of charm refining, focus your resources on the heroes that will deliver the most significant returns:

1. Top-Tier Damage Dealers from Dream Realm and Primal Lord.
2. AFK Stage Carries, primarily Tasi followed by Faramor.
