New Decks

Here are two new decks from the latest expansion, Secluded Springs.

Suicune ex deck

Suicune ex deck

Suicune ex marks the end of a long dry spell for Water decks and offers a very different kind of value.

Its first major asset is Crystal Waltz, an attack costing only two Energy that deals 20 damage for each Benched Pokémon. With the right setup, dealing at least 60 damage is simple, and going beyond that delivers outstanding efficiency for a Basic Pokémon.

Its second asset is the Legendary Pulse ability, which lets you draw a card at the end of every turn Suicune ex remains Active. Free card draw is always a powerful tool, and in Water decks it becomes especially dangerous when paired with staples like Greninja + Rare Candy, Misty, and others.

So, Suicune ex is a low-maintenance Pokémon with substantial bulk, efficient firepower, and an ability that shapes the entire game.

Raikou ex deck

Raikou ex deck

New Raikou ex has a legendary Pulse ability ranks among the best in the game, granting an extra card draw at the end of each turn—including the opening one, provided Raikou ex is Active. As long as Raikou ex remains on the field, it provides steady card advantage and incremental Bench damage, quickly establishing itself as a force in the metagame.

Tier S

Suicune ex and Greninja Deck

Greninja

Strengths:

  • Suicune ex’s ability enables faster evolution into Greninja.
  • Giratina ex can serve as a late-game finisher when required.

Weaknesses:

  • Suicune ex’s damage output is limited if the opponent has no Benched Pokémon.

Suicune ex’s ability lets the player draw a card at the end of each turn, enabling Greninja to evolve faster and contribute extra damage early on. Because Suicune ex struggles to deal significant damage when the opponent’s Bench is empty, Greninja serves as a valuable supporting option.

The contents of the full deck are as follows:

If you don't have Greninja, you could also consider using:

  • Suicune ex and Primarina Deck
  • Suicune ex and Wugtrio ex Deck
  • Suicune ex and Gyarados Deck

Suicune ex supports Primarina by providing card draw through Legendary Pulse, while Primarina sustains the team’s health.

Mantyke serves as the deck’s Energy accelerator, enabling faster setup for other Pokémon. Suicune ex excels as an early-game attacker, with Wugtrio ex stepping in to clean up during the late game.

Gyarados also acts as a late-game finisher, discarding Benched Pokémon to boost its attack power—and can even discard Suicune ex to deny opponents 2 Prize cards from a knockout.

Giratina ex and Darkrai ex Deck

Giratina ex

descript

Darkrai ex

Strengths:

  • Provides Energy acceleration during passive turns.
  • Synergizes well with Darkrai ex, adding passive damage to the Defending Pokémon through Nightmare Aura.

Weaknesses:

  • Vulnerable to punishment from Pokémon like Gallade ex when stacking large amounts of Energy.
  • Chaotic Impact also damages Giratina ex itself, leaving it more susceptible to being knocked out.

Darkrai ex works well alongside Giratina ex, as both provide value just by staying on the field.

A common sequence is to attach Energy to Darkrai ex while ending turns with Giratina ex’s Broken-Space Bellow. Darkrai ex’s Nightmare Aura helps chip opponents into KO range for Giratina ex’s Chaotic Impact.

When either Giratina ex or Darkrai ex is set up to attack, you can rotate your Active Pokémon using Leaf. Red can also be used to hit key HP thresholds when Darkrai ex’s steady damage alone isn’t sufficient.

And the contents of the full deck are as follows:

Giratina ex and Darkrai ex are the most synergistic pairing. However, Sylveon ex and Giratina ex decks, as well as Silvally and Giratina ex decks, also demonstrate remarkably strong performance.

Raikou ex and Magnezone Deck

Espeon ex Deck

Silvally and Pom-Pom Oricorio Deck

Buzzwole ex and Celebi Deck

Raikou ex and Magnezone Deck

Raikou ex’s Legendary Pulse grants an extra card draw at the end of each turn, helping you secure Magnezone evolution pieces early in the match.

While Raikou ex holds the Active Spot, focus on evolving Magnemite into Magneton. Magneton’s ability allows it to steadily accumulate additional Lightning Energy.

Once the opposing Defending Pokémon’s HP falls into range, evolve Magneton into Magnezone to deliver the finishing blow.

Espeon ex Deck

Espeon ex’s healing ability makes it an effective answer to aggressive decks.

By rotating it into the Active Spot, you can restore HP to key Pokémon when they’re low, reducing the need for multiple healing items. Often, a single support card like Eevee Bag is enough to prevent Espeon ex from being overwhelmed.

On offense, Espeon ex can hit for 80 damage with Super Psy Bolt at the cost of just 2 Energy. With the boost from Eevee Bag, this attack can reliably secure 2HKOs against ex Pokémon and OHKOs against most Basic Pokémon.

The optimal approach is to use Sylveon ex first to draw additional cards, then evolve an Eevee into Espeon ex to immediately access its healing. Against opponents running high-HP Pokémon, you can switch to the non-ex Sylveon as a heavy damage option.

Silvally and Pom-Pom Oricorio Deck

This deck focuses on rapidly powering up attackers through Pichu and Elemental Switch.

Pichu helps cover Silvally’s weakness of falling an Energy short when going first.

Meanwhile, Pom-Pom Oricorio can stall against unprepared ex Pokémon, and Silvally consistently deals 100 damage each turn, enabling favorable Prize trades.

Buzzwole ex and Celebi Deck

This Buzzwole ex deck techs in Celebi as a counter to Stage 2 ex strategies, particularly those featuring Charizard ex.

With support from Red, Celebi can score a one-hit knockout on a Stage 2 ex if its Basic form has 60 HP or less, since all damage accumulated on the Defending Pokémon carries over after it devolves.

Latios and Latias Deck

Tier B decks have shown solid results in tournaments but demand a high skill ceiling, as players must thoroughly understand each card to maximize their potential.

However, even with that expertise, they fall short compared to Tier A and Tier S decks, which typically dominate and push Tier B options out of the meta. Unless you have extra resources, it’s usually wiser to focus on higher-tier decks instead of committing to Tier B.

Conclusion

Each deck tier offers distinct strengths and playstyles, but Tier S decks are especially powerful and give you the best chance at victory. Master their advantages, cover their weaknesses, and enjoy the thrill of Pokémon TCG battles!
