August ZZZ Shiyu Defense Guide & Teams

Hey, Proxies! With the update of the ZZZ 2.1 veresion, the Shiyu Defense is facing a new round of challenges - the addition of 2 Miasmic Bosses in the seventh frontier have suddenly raised the diffculty of the battlefield.

Buff Effects

Enemies have their Ether and Physical resistance reduced by 15%, making Ether and Physical DPS characters significantly more effective.

Additionally, after using an EX Special Attack or Combo, the character receives the following buffs for 20 seconds (refreshed upon retrigger):

• 15% increase in Attribute Anomaly DMG
• 20% increase in Critical DMG
• 20% increase in Sheer DMG

These buffs directly benefit:

• Anomaly-based characters by increased Anomaly DMG
• Power Attack-focused characters by Critical DMG boost
• Rupture characters by both Critical and Sheer DMG

Among them, Yixuan gains the most, as he fully capitalizes on both Critical and Sheer DMG.

 

Enemy Analysis

6th frontier--upper half: Rampant Brute

• A returning enemy that charges itself to enhance attack power.
• While charged, it becomes more aggressive but can be Disordered by applying a non-Electric status effect, interrupting the charge and inflicting heavy damage.
• Highly suitable for Anomaly users who can trigger mixed status effects efficiently.

 

6th frontier—lower half: Armored Hati

• Enters battle with armour, reducing both incoming damage and Stagger effectiveness.
• Can be disarmed quickly using a Yellow Blade (Heavey Attack), after which it becomes fully vulnerable.

 

7th frontier --- Upper half: Sacrifice-Heretic Jester

• A new enemy that performs a jump-and-dart ranged attack.
• Counter with a Red-Light dodge to avoid the projectile, then follow up with a Yello Blade to knock it down and rapidly deplete its Shield.
• If it begins charging, interrupting it with Stagger will significantly shorten its buff duration and reduce risk.

Explanation: Yazuha is very effective against Rampant Brute. Jane’s Power Attack reliably triggers Disorder, immediately interrupting the Brute’s charging phrase. Her physical attributes also directly exploit Brute’s reduced Physical resistance, making her a hard counter both mechanically and elementally. For sub-DPS, Vivian and Burnice are viable options on team synergy and build preference.

6th Frontier: Lower Half

Explanation: There are many possible teams on this frontier. Any lineup capable of Blade Deflection can effectively break enemy’s Armor. Teams incorporating both Ice and Ether-based characters are also well suited for this encounter.

7th Frontier: Upper Half

Explanation: Although enemies have a Physical resistance, Jane's team is still highly effective. Due to enemy’s high attack frequency, Jane can consistently trigger Extreme Dodges to restore her Frenzy, enabling a smooth and satisfying combat loop. Yanagi’s team also performs well in this encounter. Once the enemy’s Shield is removed, the team gains a significant Energy boost, enabling Yanagi to quickly unleash a lot of high-impact damages. Anby’s team has also gained prominence in this frontier. Due to the high enemy attack frequency, Anby can consistently trigger Extreme Dodge, enabling frequent triple-hit follow-ups for sustained burst damage.

7th Frontier: Lower Half
Team 1	Miyabi	Yuzuha Or Lycaon	Soukaku
Team 2	Yixuan	Pan Yinhu	Ju Fufu
Explanation: Miyabi’s team is very effective due to the enemy’s vulnerability to Freeze. If Miyabi and Soukaku apply Freeze in turn, the enemy is effectively lock-controlled, preventing it from recharging and rendering it significantly weakened throughout the fight. Yixuan’s team lacks Freeze capabilities, making it difficult to prevent the enemy’s charge phase through control. When the enemy ascends and begins charging its weapon, immediately switch to either Pan Yinhu or Ju Fufu and activate their Ultimates to interrupt the charge and avoid major damage.
