What we have
Deadly Assault Rules
Deadly Assault is one of Zenless Zone Zero's tougher challenge modes, running from June 13 to June 27. It refreshes every two weeks on Fridays at 04:00 (server time), alternating with the Shiyu Defense event. Here's the catch: you can't use duplicate agents or Bangboos in your lineups. The event features three stages, with a total of nine stars up for grabs. Snagging six stars is enough to claim all the Polychrome rewards, so don't stress if you can't max it out.
To give you an edge, the event offers three buff effects to choose from: Raging Storm, Worn Out, and Graceful Mastery. These buffs can seriously amp up your team's performance—it's all about picking the right one for your playstyle. Let's break them down next, along with strategies for each stage.

Buff Effects Analysis
Here's the scoop on the three buffs you'll be working with:
Meditation:
- Agent MaxHPincreases by 30%,Uitimate DMG increases by 40%
- After using an Uitimate, Energy and Adrenaline Generation Rate increase by 15%,
- Ether DMG and Ice DMG inerease by 40% for 20s.
Interrupt:
- Basic Attack, Dodge Counter, EX Special Attack, and Dash Attack DMG increases by 30%.
- After triggering a Perfect Dodge or Perfect Assist, increases all squad members' ATK by 10% and CRIT DMG by 10% for 15s. Stacks up to 3 times. The duration of each stack is calculated separately.
Transformation Charge:
Agent Ether Anomaly Buildup Rate and Physical Anomaly Buildup Rate is increased by 25%, and Anomaly Proficiency by 60 points.
- When triggering an Attribute Anomaly, the enemy's DEF is reduced by 10%, and the damage they receive from Attribute Anomalies will be increased by 30% for 20s. Repeated triggers reset the duration.
Stage 1 Boss Analysis & Team Recommendations
Boss: Miasma Priest
Weaknesses: Ether Resistances: Ice
Current Intel:
- When the Miasma Priest switches phase, their Anomaly Buildup RES increases by 10% and CRIT DMG taken increases by 30%.
- This effect can stack up to 2 times and is cleared when Miasma Shield breaks.
Strategy:
This boss is tailored for 2.0 characters such as Yixuan, who has an easier time breaking through the Miasma Shields. If you do not have her, you can use any other Ether Agent.
There are two key mechanics to watch out for:
Consecutive Yellow Attacks: During these sequences, simply spam character switches for Parry Assists. They don't consume Support Points, earn you Operation Score, and can force the enemy into a Staggered State, increasing the damage it takes.
Miasma Shield: The boss will activate a Miasma Shield, greatly reducing damage taken and becoming immune to Imbalance. Regular attacks will chip away at the shield, but Parry Assists, Perfect Dodges, Counterattacks, and Ultimate Skills are much more effective. So don't panic—red glow means dodge, yellow glow means parry, and feel free to switch to a support unit and unleash their Ultimate to break the shield faster.
Team Recommendations
The enemy gains increased Anomaly Resistance and Ice Resistance after each phase transition, effectively shutting out Anomaly comps like Miyabi teams. With its Ether Weakness, it's recommended to run a Yi Xuan Team or Zhu Yuan Team.
If you don't have Yi Xuan or Zhu Yuan, consider using a Chase Team, Ellen, or even a 11 Soldier Fire Team as alternatives.

Stage 2 Boss Analysis & Team Recommendations
Boss: Notorious - Marionette
Weaknesses: Ether& Ice
Current Intel:
- Damaged dealt by Boss enemies increases by 25%.
- When a clone is destroyed or when the main body is stunned, 1/5 stacks of On Thin Ice is inflicted on Boss enemies respectively.
- Each stack of On Thin Ice decreases the DMG dealt by the Boss by 5% and increases the Ice DMG and Electric DMG dealt to the boss by Agents by 10%.
- On Thin Ice stacks will be reset when the enemy recovers from Stun.
Strategy:
A familiar enemy that summons clones to attack. Use your best Ice or Ether team for this fight.
During the fight you want to make sure to destroy the small adds called "partners" that keep spawning.Taking out these clones grants Operation Score, boosts Ice and Electric DMG, and extends the next Imbalance window for the main body.
Team Recommendations
Miyabi and Ellen both have wide-area attacks and lots of invincibility effect, making them great for clearing clones easily. Miyabi deals higher damage overall, so fights are generally smoother with her. Ellen may take more effort, but she's very satisfying to play once you get the hang of her combos.
Hugo teams might be a bit weaker at clearing clones, but with double Toughness Break, they can quickly push the boss into Imbalance, and Hugo can deal steady damage easily.
This boss is weak to both Ice and Ether, and whenever you destroy a clone or push the boss into Imbalance, you'll get bonus damage for Ice and Electric attacks. That gives you more flexibility when building teams.

Stage 3 Boss Analysis & Team Recommendations
Boss: Boss: Notorious - Pompey
Weaknesses: Fire Resistances: Electric
Current Intel:
- When the Agent hits the boss enemy with a Defensive Assist or Chain Attack, they apply 1 stack of Weakening to the target. For each stack of Weakening on the target, Agent CRIT DMG is increased by 10%.
- When the boss has 4 stacks of Weakening, Defensive Assist will deflect the boss enemy's attack, causing a Stagger effect.
Pompey’s the easiest boss for maxing points—just nail those parries. When you see a yellow flash, swap characters. Pompey attacks fast, so keep your rhythm tight to avoid getting combo’d.
Team Recommendations
The enemy is our old friend Pompey, and with his Fire Weakness, Evelyn is the top pick. Jane Doe Anomaly comps also handle the fight with ease.
If you don't have those teams, you can still push through with a Miyabi team or Yi Xuan team, though you'll need to aim for over 20,000 points with strong execution.
Evelyn isn't just the best Fire DPS—she can also trigger Coordinated Skills multiple times, applying Disadvantage to the enemy and boosting her Crit DMG.
If Lighter is already assigned to a Hugo team, then Koleda becomes your go-to support for Evelyn.
