Kingshot Hero Gear Optimization Guide

Figuring out the best way to handle your hero's gear in Kingshot can be tricky. Many players, make the mistake of putting their best gear on their favorite hero first, without thinking about the bigger picture.

In most battles, two key stats determine victory: Health and Lethality. However, rally fights are an exception, as they only depend on the rally leader's stats. When attacking another player directly, the defender's high Health and the attacker's high Lethality are what matter most for winning.

Today let's break down the smart way to optimize your gear to avoid these pitfalls.

Focus on Your Main Team

kingshot teams

Before you even start getting or upgrading gear, you need to pick your main march – your top 3 most-used heroes. Your hero gear only matters for these heroes in most major events like Bear Hunt or Castle Battle. It's also crucial to know that gear only affects stats if you are the one starting a rally; if you just join someone else's rally, your hero gear doesn't do anything.

Therefore, don't waste resources on gear for heroes outside your main team. You should reset the gear from all your other heroes and focus those materials on your main squad. If you've already upgraded gear on other heroes, you can reforge it to get back most of the Enhancement XP and some of the Forgehammers used.

You ultimately want to build three specific gear sets:

  • 1 Infantry set
  • 1 Archer set
  • 1 Cavalry set

Understand Gear Basics

Gear provides huge stats for your heroes in various game modes and also gives bonuses to your troops. It's vital to have good gear, leveled up and forged when possible.

Different gear pieces give different bonuses:

  • Helmets and Boots: These give Attack and Lethality stats.
  • Chests and Gloves: These give Defense and Health stats.

Some stats (like Hero Attack/Health or Escort Attack/Health) mainly affect the Arena and Suppression game modes. The Lethality stat applies to your troops when fighting on the open world map.

Priority Order for Getting & Upgrading Gear

You can't get everything at once, so follow this order for the best results. Think of it as your shopping list.

Top Priority (Get and Upgrade These First):

Infantry Health (Chest & Gloves): This is the first most important stat. Keeping your infantry frontline alive longer lets them deal more damage and protects your backline troops.

Archer Lethality (Helmet & Boots): Archers are key offensive troops, so boosting their damage is crucial next.

Archer Lethality (Helmet & Boots)

Cavalry Lethality (Helmet & Boots): Cavalry are also powerful attackers, so focus on their damage next.

Upgrade these core pieces first. Aim to get their Enhancement level to around 60-80+ and use Forgehammers to get their Forge Mastery to around level 7-10.

Next Priority (Get and Upgrade These After):

Infantry Lethality (Helmet & Boots): Now go back and increase your infantry's damage.

Archer Health (Chest & Gloves): Then, improve your archers' survivability.

Cavalry Health (Chest & Gloves): Finally, add health to your cavalry.

These are still useful but less urgent. Bring these up to a lower level, like 40-60 Enhancement and Forge Mastery level 4-5.

Remember: Stagger your leveling this way too. Don't level all pieces equally. Focus on your priority pieces first before spending resources on the secondary ones.

Enhancing, Forging, and Reforging

Enhancing: Click the 'Enhance' button on a gear piece. You can use Scrolls or consume other gear items to add XP and level it up. You can 'Select More' to auto-fill enough materials for one level. Important: Avoid consuming Purple (Epic) gear for XP! It's hard to get, so save it for other formations or Reforging.

Mastery Forging: This feature is only for Mythic gear that is at least level 20. It consumes Forgehammers to add stars (levels) to the gear, significantly boosting its base stats. This is very powerful for high-level gear.

Reforging: If you need to get resources back from a piece of gear (like an upgraded piece on a hero you no longer use), use Reforge. Never consume a leveled-up gear piece for XP – you will lose the item forever! Instead, put the gear in your backpack, go to the Gear section, and click 'Reforge'. This will return all the Enhancement XP (as Scrolls) and half of the Forgehammers used on that item. You can then use these resources on a better piece of gear.

Extra Tips: Research and Buildings

The same prioritization logic applies elsewhere:

  • Research: Focus on Infantry Health first, then Archer Lethality, followed by Infantry Lethality, Archer Health, Cavalry Lethality, and finally Cavalry Health.
  • Island Buildings: Upgrade buildings that boost Infantry Defense (which effectively helps health/survivability) and Archer Attack first.

Conclusion

Focus gear only on your 3 main heroes.

Follow the priority order for getting and upgrading gear pieces:

Infantry Health -> Archer Lethality -> Cavalry Lethality -> Infantry Lethality -> Archer Health -> Cavalry Health.

Enhance and Forge your high-priority pieces first.

Use Reforge, don't consume, leveled gear you don't need to get resources back.

Apply the same stat priority to Research and Building upgrades.

Stick to this plan, and your main march will become much stronger efficiently. Feel free to share your own gear strategies or ask questions in the comments below, we love to hear what works for you! Happy gaming!
