Desert Storm Overview

Desert Storm is a weekly event where your alliance battles another of similar power on a dedicated battlefield. It’s popular for its dynamic gameplay and rewards, including Honor points, resources, accelerators, decoration chests, and dieletric ceramic. Troops used in the event are not lost. Recent updates allow up to 60 members to participate through the A-B task force system, with 20 starters and 10 substitutes per task force. The battlefield is accessible from the event page when Desert Storm begins.

Tip:

Matchmaking isn’t always fair. Removing decorations or lowering alliance power doesn’t help, as the game uses the alliance’s historical total power for matchmaking.

Battlefield Map and buildings

In Desert Storm, buildings are key to victory. Some give high Battlefield and Individual Points, while others provide powerful boosts that can change the battle. On the map, your alliance starts on the left (blue pins), and the enemy begins on the opposite side.

Battlefield Map and buildings

In the map you should pay attention to:

Nuclear Silo

Nuclear Silo

This is the core structure of the game, giving the highest amount of Battlefield Points per minute. However, it can only be captured starting from Stage 2, which begins 10 minutes after the battle starts.

Oil Refinery I/II

Oil Refinery I/II

There are two Oil Refineries available from the very beginning of the battle. After the Nuclear Silo, they are the best point-generating buildings in Stage 1. Capturing them early is crucial.

Science Hub

Science Hub

This structure doesn’t give many points, but it provides a strong buff: cooldown speed is increased by 100%. In practice, this reduces the free teleport cooldown from 2 minutes to just 1 minute.

Info Center

Info Center

This building boosts Battlefield Points from all captured structures by 10%. Controlling it is crucial, as letting the enemy take it gives them a big advantage.

Field Hospital

Field Hospital

Field Hospitals are crucial for staying strong through the 30-minute battle. Each one heals 15 units every 10 seconds, and with 4 in total, they can greatly boost your army’s endurance.

Arsenal

Arsenal

Killing troops gives a lot of individual points, so capturing this building is important as it boosts Heroes’ Attack, Defense, and HP by 15%. It only becomes available in Stage 2, 10 minutes after the battle starts.

Mercenary Factory

Mercenary Factory

This structure weakens your enemy with a reduce enemy Heroes’ Attack, Defense, HP by 15%.
It is possible to capture it only starting from Stage 2, so after 10 minutes since the beginning of the game.

Oil Wells

Oil Wells

These structures are similar to fields and mines of the game, you send squads and they gather resource, in this case points.
It is possible to capture it only starting from Stage 3, so after 13 minutes since the beginning of the game.

Scoring System Explained

In Desert Storm, you have two goals:

  • Win the battle – earn alliance rewards as the winning side.
  • Maximize individual rewards – mainly Honor Points.

There are two types of points:

  • Battlefield Points (Alliance Points) – decide the winning alliance. Earn them by:
    • Capturing and holding buildings (yield points for alliance).
    • Collecting Supply Boxes that drop when buildings change owners.
    • Gathering from Oil Wells.
  • Individual Points – decide your personal reward tier. Earn them by:
    • Capturing and holding buildings (yield points for individuals).
    • Killing enemy troops during building attacks or defenses (higher-level enemies give more points).

Top Strategies

Divide Roles Early

A common mistake is having everyone rush the same building at the start. Instead, split your alliance into focused groups: high-power players form the frontline to fight and hold key structures, support players reinforce or backcap lightly defended enemy spots, and a few act as harassers to distract or delay the enemy.

Secure Field Hospitals First

Field Hospitals are vital in long battles because they heal your troops. Capturing all four early gives your alliance a major advantage and helps sustain your army throughout the match.

Coordinate Timed Hits

Use alliance chat or voice calls to synchronize attacks. For example, the Nuclear Silo unlocks at the 10-minute mark, so your team should be in position and ready by 9:30 to strike efficiently.

Watch the Clock

Timing matters for capturing key buildings. At 10 minutes, the Nuclear Silo, Arsenal, and Mercenary Factory unlock, providing important benefits. At 20 minutes, Oil Fields appear, ideal for solo players or backup squads to gain steady points. Finally, at 29:30, focus on taking key structures and plundering points before the match ends.

Best Heroes & Builds

The best heroes depend on your overall setup, but some choices are generally strong:

  • Pick heroes with high HP and defense to hold key positions.
  • Combine infantry with strong support heroes for quick clears.
  • Ideal for Tech Center rushes or contesting the Nuclear Silo.

Always ensure your lineups have good synergy and are properly upgraded. Check talent trees for bonuses like increased march speed or healing to maximize effectiveness.

Common Mistakes

A common mistake is rushing the same building as everyone else—spreading out is far more effective. Always reinforce buildings under siege and avoid using Teleporters too early, saving them for critical moments. Keep an eye on timers, since timing is everything in Desert Storm, and never go solo without monitoring your march lines, or you risk being intercepted.
