WuWa Buling Build Guide: Best Echo Set, Weapons & Teams

After Lumi’s debut in Version 1.4, Wuthering Waves is finally adding a new four-star character in Version 2.8—meet Buling, the clever, cheerful little Taoist with a strong sense of justice! Rovers have seen her playful and mischievous personality throughout the main story, but now you can actually unlock her and put her skills to the test.

Buling Overview

Buling, the "Spiritchaser Taoist," is a wandering Black Shores Consultant who travels far and wide investigating strange and mysterious phenomena. Playful, lively, and full of charm, she’s also the junior disciple of Jianxin, the familiar Taoist from the main story.

Buling Release Date

Buling will release on 12/10/2025, which is the second half of Wuthering Waves 2.8.

Buling Mechanic

Buling’s kit shows strong potential as healer and team buffer who scales mainly with ATK. She will be a very great addition to your account if you are lacking a character that can provide huge resonance skill buff. Sometimes she performs better than S0R0 Shorekeeper in specific team comps, of course at S6. She provides 15% all-types damage bonus, 50% Resonance Skill damage boosts, and stacks up Electro Flare onto enemies off-field.

Her basic mechanic is about Trigram, she will gain 2 types of Trigram through different moves, one is Thunder and the other is Mountain. The sequence of these Trigrams will change the types of Heavy Attack. So how will you get these?

To make it simple, here is a list:

For her Ultimate and Forte Circuit, it contains the Chinese Taoist culture Yin Yang. Her Ultimate got 2 forms, normal one just deal Electro damage, when Buling balancing her Yin and Yang, Her ultimate will be enhanced according to her Forte Circuit.

The enhanced ultimate will create a zone that deals Electro DMG and applies Electro Flare. When you swap her teammate to cast Intro Skill, the team’s Resonance Skill damage will increase by 10%. If you do it for second time, it will further enhance to 25%, this enhancement can be 50% with her S6.

Buling Rotation

Based on the above analysis, the Thunder is much easier to stack up, so accumulate 3 Thunders and 1 Mountain in battle.
Here is a Buling’s rotation for you to refer to:
Basic ATK 1 + Basic ATK 2 (Mountain) → Mid-air ATK (Thunder) → Hold Normal Attack to cast the Heavy Attack (Gain Yang) → Resonance Skill (Thunder) → Basic ATK 4 (Thunder) → Hold Normal Attack to cast the Heavy Attack (Gain Yin) → Liberation → Swap to teammate and cast  Intro Skill and other attacks if needed → Swap to another teammate and cast Intro Skill first, then attacks.

When allocating her skill points, prioritize her Inherent Skill first. If you’re focusing on boosting her healing role, next invest in her Normal Attack and Intro Skill. On the other hand, if you want to lean into her damage output, then prioritize her Forte Circuit and Resonance Skill. Because Buling is a 4‑star support/healer, you don’t need to over-invest in her to make her effective.

Alternatives
Stellar Symphony (5-satr) ATK: 412 | Energy Regen: 77%	Astral Evolvement Increase HP by 12%/15%/18%/21%/24%. Restore 8/10/12/14/16 Concerto Energy when casting Resonance Liberation. This effect can be triggered 1 time(s) every 20s. When casting Resonance Skill that heals, increase nearby party members' ATK by 14%/17.5%/21%/ 24.5%/28% for 30s. Effects of the same name cannot be stacked.
Fusion Accretion (4-star) ATK: 463 | ATK: 18.2%	Intergalactic Gaze Casting the Resonance Skill grants 6/7/8/9/10 Resonance Energy and increases ATK by 10%/12.5%/15%/ 17.5%/20%, lasting for 16s. This effect can be triggered once every 20s.

Since Buling is a 4-star Resonator, she doesn’t have her signature weapon. The best-in-slot weapon for Buling is the 4-star weapon Variation. It provides 51.8% Energy regeneration and extra concerto energy every time she use Resonance Skill. These two effects significantly shorten the downtime between ultimates, letting Buling use her enhanced Ultimate more frequently. The 337 ATK sub stat boosts Buling’s healing ability since her healing scale on her own ATK.

Alternatively, you can choose Stellar Symphony to replace Variation. It gives 77% Energy Regen, even higher than Variation, allowing her to charge her enhanced Ultimate much faster. It also grants 8 Concerto Energy on Liberation for even smoother uptime. One more key enhancement of this weapon is the ATK buff to nearby teammates, which fits perfectly with her role as a team buffer.

If you don't have the above weapon, then choose Fusion Accretion. It gives Buling extra Resonance Energy, helping her use enhanced Ultimate more often. The 463 ATK and 18.2% ATK sub stats directly boosts her healing. This is a good alternative for Variation.

As a slot-three healer, Buling’s best choice is undoubtedly the healing Echo set, as maintaining smooth rotation is her top priority. For the main Echo, choose Fallacy of No Return or Bell-Borne Geochelone, depending on your team’s needs and Buling’s build. Before unlocking her second Resonance Chain, she may struggle with Energy regeneration — in this case, equipping two Energy Regen Costumes is recommended. After unlocking her second chain, you can swap one of them for an ATK 3C if the team’s energy flow feels stable.

Resonance Chain

S1: Exorcist Gadgets, Lend Me Your Power

When Resonance Liberation: Flashing Thunder Spell – Harmony deals damage, its Crit Rate is increased by 20%. C1 boosts the Crit Rate of Buling’s ultimate.

S2: Talisman Burns, Spirits Turn

When Buling enters the Yin-Yang Balance state, she restores 25 Resonance Energy. This effect can trigger once every 24 seconds. C2 greatly alleviates ultimate energy pressure.

S3: Summoner of Spirits, Seeker of Fate

While Five Thunders Spell Array is active, whenever a team member’s HP drops below 50%, immediately restore HP equal to 350 + 150% of Buling’s ATK. This effect can trigger once every 24 seconds. C3 provides clutch healing when allies are at half HP, increasing survivability.

S4: Wanderer of Solaris, Blessed by Fortune

Buling's Healing Bonus is increased by 20%. C4 enhances overall healing output. 

S5: Forum Ban? New Account!

Five Thunders Spell Array instantly inflicts another 6 stacks of Electro Flare on all targets within its range upon generation.

S6: "Almighty Forum Lord of Thunder Spell"

While in the Thunder Spell: Heaven, Earth, Mind state, all active team members gain 50% Resonance Skill DMG Bonus. C6 doubles the Resonance Skill damage bonus from 25% to 50%, effectively turning Buling into the equivalent of two units in terms of her team-wide damage contribution.

As a four-star character, maxing out Buling’s Resonance Chains is only a matter of time. Her S2 significantly improves Energy regeneration, while S6 provides a crucial boost to her Resonance Skill damage — making it the key milestone in her overall progression.

Compared to other healers, Buling truly shines in teams where Resonance Skill damage plays a large role. Her endless extension-like ability to keep the combo going allows main characters like Phrolova, Carlotta, or Jinhsi to soak up buffs and deal huge damage. It’s clear: in those setups, Buling can be the key piece that turns the tide.
