Version 3.6 Phase 2 is bringing Jingran—and he’s finally here!
Jingran has been getting plenty of attention ever since the official Mengzhou character lineup was revealed. He also made his story appearance alongside Suisui in Version 3.5 as the mischievous “Ghostcat Lamplighter.” If cheeky, mysterious boys are your thing, this one might be dangerous for your Astrites.
His official artwork goes all-in on eerie underworld vibes, yet the little flame-cat creature he summons is ridiculously cute. That contrast is honestly half the charm.

So, let’s jump into a full Jingran build guide and see how to get this occult-seeking troublemaker battle-ready.
Jingran Overview
Jingran is a Fusion Main DPS built around Heavy Attack DMG, Max HP scaling, and frequent Shield generation. His kit turns those Shields into offensive value, while Max HP also feeds several of his personal buffs and damage-related effects.

Rarity: 5-star | Attribute: Fusion | Weapon: Broadblade
His rotation is built around a Yin–Yang stance loop. Enter with his Intro Skill, activate Resonance Liberation to enter Yinghuo, then spend 300 Qi on Soul Raid or Stardome Meander. Each Heavy Attack switches his stance, creating a natural back-and-forth rhythm.
Afterward, rebuild the remaining Qi through Basic Attacks and Resonance Skills, then repeat the Heavy Attack cycle before Yinghuo ends. His strong aerial coverage also makes him noticeably more comfortable against airborne enemies than many grounded carries.

Best Weapons
Signature Weapon — Thousandfold Deliverance

ATK 413 | HP 72.2%
Hark, Spirits and Stars
- Grants 24% All-Attribute DMG Bonus. Casting Intro Skill or gaining a Shield as the active Resonator grants 1 stack of Nature's Order and 1 stack of Cradle of Life. This effect can be triggered via gaining a Shield once every 0.5s, stacking up to 6 times, lasting for 7s. Switching to another Resonator ends both Nature's Order and Cradle of Life immediately.
- Nature's Order: Crit. DMG is increased by 8%, up to 48%. When Nature's Order reaches 6, the Crit. Rate of Heavy Attack DMG is increased by 24%.
- Cradle of Life: Casting Heavy Attack consumes up to 2 stacks of Cradle of Life. For every 1 stack of Cradle of Life consumed, Heavy Attack DMG ignores 25% of the target's DEF, up to 50%. The effect lasts for 2s.
This weapon is tailor-made for Jingran because it reinforces every major pillar of his kit rather than simply adding generic damage. Jingran naturally builds around Max HP, repeatedly generates Shields, and concentrates most of his meaningful damage into Heavy Attacks, so the weapon’s activation conditions fit seamlessly into his normal rotation. It also strengthens his Crit consistency and helps his Heavy Attacks punch through enemy defenses, allowing his high-value damage windows to scale much more efficiently without requiring any awkward setup or changes to his playstyle.

Best Echoes
Lamp of Nether Road is Jingran’s best-fit Echo set because HP% directly improves his scaling, while his frequent Shields can consistently trigger the set’s Crit Rate and Fusion DMG bonuses. Myriad Snare: Rustfire Chassis further boosts his Heavy Attack-focused damage profile, making the entire setup highly efficient for his core rotation.
Jingran needs around 50,000 Max HP to fully satisfy the HP scaling built into his Forte. Falling short comes with a noticeable loss, so this is a demanding target—players who have built Cartethyia will know the feeling.
For Echo layouts, keep the recommended COST 4 main Echo in place. Jingran still benefits from ATK as a secondary scaling source, so the flat ATK attached to COST 3 Echoes is not completely wasted.
With a 43311 setup (Crit. DMG; HP% / HP%) you need roughly 31.57% extra HP%;
With a 43111 setup (Crit. DMG; HP%) you need roughly 22.14% extra HP%;
With a 41111 setup (Crit. DMG) you need roughly 12.72% extra HP%。
For Jingran, fitting in more COST 3 Echoes generally gives you more raw value, but it also makes the 50,000 HP target harder to reach. Pick the layout that matches your Echo quality instead of forcing a prettier spreadsheet build.
Skills & Resonance Chains Priority
Skill Priority
Unlock his Inherent Skills first. Then prioritize:
|
Skill |
Priority |
Why |
|---|---|---|
|
Forte Circuit |
★★★★★ |
This is Jingran’s most important leveling target because the multipliers for Soul Raid and Stardome Meander, the attacks that form the centerpiece of his damage windows, are tied directly to Forte Circuit levels. Since these Heavy Attacks are repeatedly used whenever Jingran reaches 300 Qi, improving their base and HP-related scaling produces the largest and most consistent increase to his total rotation damage. |
|
Resonance Liberation |
★★★★☆ |
Resonance Liberation deserves second priority because its level affects more than the initial cast. Chimei Wangliang, which is repeatedly triggered by Soul Raid and Stardome Meander during Yinghuo, is also listed under this skill’s multipliers. As a result, leveling Liberation improves damage that continues throughout Jingran’s main burst window rather than only strengthening a single opening hit. |
|
Basic Attack |
★★★☆☆ |
Basic Attack has better leveling value than its name might suggest because Jingran regularly enters the later stages of both stance-specific attack strings during normal Qi cycling. Stages 3 and 4 are especially relevant and are treated as Heavy Attack DMG, so their contribution benefits from the same broader Heavy Attack-focused build. They appear often enough across longer rotations to justify leveling after his two core talents. |
|
Resonance Skill |
★★☆☆☆ |
Resonance Skill is essential for keeping Jingran’s rotation efficient, but much of its importance comes from Qi generation, stance flow, and access to follow-up attacks rather than from its own multiplier scaling. Its enhanced follow-ups do deal Heavy Attack DMG, yet they make up a smaller portion of his full damage window than Forte, Liberation-linked attacks, and repeated Basic Attack sequences, so additional levels have lower overall value. |
|
Intro Skill |
★☆☆☆☆ |
Intro Skill is extremely useful for starting Jingran’s rotation because it converts Ghost Shroud, grants Qi, and helps him transition into his attack sequence. However, those core utility effects do not become stronger simply by leveling the Intro Skill; the main thing that scales is its relatively small direct hit. That makes it the safest talent to leave for last when resources are limited. |
Resonance Chain Quick Take
|
Resonance Chain |
Effect |
Analysis |
|
S1 — Yin and Yang in Harmony, the Ultimate Law of Being |
Increases the DMG Multipliers of Encroaching Yin, Netherworld Traverse, Scorching Yang, and Afterlife's Guide by 80%. Jingran also becomes immune to interruption while performing these four Resonance Skill attacks. |
A useful Skill damage and comfort upgrade, but it does not strengthen the Forte Heavy Attacks that make up the core of Jingran's damage. |
|
S2 — A Solitary Lantern, Across Lands Shade-Trodden |
Increases the DMG Multipliers of Soul Raid and Stardome Meander by 46%. During Yinghuo, their additional multiplier granted by Fire of Life is increased by another 46%. Upon entering combat, Jingran gains 300 Qi and Netherworld's Boon, once every 4s. After casting Soul Raid or Stardome Meander, Netherworld's Boon restores 25% Max Resonance Energy and grants them 180% DMG Amplification for 4s. |
Jingran's biggest early power spike, combining major core Heavy Attack gains with a faster opener and much smoother Resonance Energy cycling. |
|
S3 — World's Course Shifts, Each to Their Rightful Paths |
Casting Soul Raid or Stardome Meander grants 5 Ghost Shroud. After casting Burial of Thousand Souls, Yang Changes, Yin Unites is replaced by Yin-Yang Everflow for 15s, granting 50 ATK for every 1,000 Max HP, up to 2,500 ATK. |
A strong personal damage increase that scales naturally with his HP-focused build, while the extra Ghost Shroud also helps maintain his resource cycle. |
|
S4 — Where Reality Meets Illusion, Where Living Meet Dead |
Whenever a Resonator in the team gains a Shield, all Resonators gain 20% All-Attribute DMG Bonus for 30s. |
A strong teamwide buff with easy uptime in Jingran's Shield-focused compositions, though it is less important if you only care about his personal damage. |
|
S5 — Ends Return to Beginnings, Truth of Life Laid Bare |
When Jingran would receive fatal damage, he survives and instead gains a Shield equal to 50% of his Max HP for 15s. This can trigger once every 10 minutes, and the Shield cannot be transferred to another Resonator. |
Mostly a defensive safety net. The Shield is substantial thanks to Jingran's high HP, but it provides essentially no additional offensive value. |
|
S6 — As Favors and Feuds Fade, New Stories Await |
Targets take 40% more Heavy Attack DMG from Jingran, and Chimei Wangliang's DMG Multiplier increases by 80%. Entering Yinghuo grants Parade of Thousand Souls for 15s. While Jingran is active, dealing damage summons Chimei Wangliang at 1s intervals, up to 8 times, dealing Fusion DMG considered Heavy Attack DMG. The effect ends and its summons reset when Jingran casts Burial of Thousand Souls or when Yinghuo ends or is removed. |
His ultimate damage Chain, simultaneously amplifying core Heavy Attacks and adding repeated Chimei Wangliang hits throughout his main Yinghuo damage window. |
Jingran Resonance Chain Pulling Advice
Recommended: S0R1 → S2R1 → S6R1
S0R1 — Best Value: Jingran is already fully functional at S0, while his signature weapon directly complements the HP, Shield, and Heavy Attack mechanics central to his build.
S2R1 — Best Stopping Point: This is the most worthwhile early investment. It substantially improves his core Heavy Attacks while also fixing much of his opening setup and Energy flow.
S3R1 — Optional Upgrade: Strong if you want additional personal damage after S2, but the improvement is less transformative and does not justify chasing it for everyone.
S6R1 — Maximum Investment: The target for dedicated Jingran mains, adding both powerful Heavy Attack amplification and a major new source of repeated Yinghuo damage.
Best Teams
Jingran / Iuno / Shorekeeper
Team Notes: Jingran repeatedly generates Shields and deals most of his damage through Heavy Attacks, making Iuno an excellent partner. Her Heavy Attack-focused buffs fit his damage profile perfectly, while Shorekeeper supplies valuable Crit. Rate, Crit. DMG, healing, and universal support.
Mono-Fusion Team
Team Notes: Lupa is a natural pick for Fusion-focused teams thanks to her smooth rotation, fast Concerto generation, and strong Fusion support. If you also have S1 Mornye, the full mono-Fusion setup becomes even more attractive.
Low-Cost Jingran Team
Team Notes: Rebecca or Mortefi can fill the secondary damage/support slot without making the team too expensive. Both give Jingran useful Heavy Attack support, letting this lower-investment setup perform surprisingly well.
Is Jingran Worth Pulling?
Jingran is worth considering if you need a Fusion Main DPS and enjoy Heavy Attack-focused gameplay. His S0 kit is mechanically complete, with strong HP scaling, frequent self-Shields, and a clear burst-focused playstyle. However, his zero DEF makes maintaining those Shields especially important.
His biggest consideration is investment: his signature weapon fits his unusual HP scaling far better than most alternatives. Jingran also prefers clean, uninterrupted Yinghuo windows, so players who already have a developed Fusion carry may find him more optional than necessary.
Conclusion
Jingran is a strong pick for players who enjoy Heavy Attack-focused carries with a little extra comfort built in. His HP scaling and frequent Shields make him surprisingly sturdy, while the right Echoes and teammates let his damage really take off.
If you’re planning to go for S0R1 or push further into his Resonance Chains, make sure your pulls are ready before his banner arrives. You can grab the Lunites you need with a Wuthering Waves top-up at LDShop, then leave the rest to your luck.
