Banyue Overview

Rarity: S-Rank | Attribute: Fire | Specialty: Rupture
Banyue is an S-Rank Fire agent specializing in Rupture damage. His core gameplay revolves around managing his unique Rage resource through perfect dodges, parries, and skill usage. When his Rage maxes out, he enters a powerful Wrath State where his Fire damage converts to DEF-ignoring Sheer DMG that scales with his Max HP.
As a high-skill ceiling character, Banyue rewards precise execution with massive AoE burst potential. He works best with Rupture supports like Lucia and fits perfectly into teams that can trigger his Additional Ability requirements. While demanding to master, his ability to bypass enemy defenses makes him a valuable addition to any roster seeking top-tier firepower.

Banyue’s entire kit revolves around a simple but demanding rhythm: build Wrathful Fires before the Stun window, enter Visage of Wrath at the right moment, chain together two different EX Special ATK, and finish the Stun with his powerful Toppling Mountain.
Wrathful Fires is his primary resource, generated through parries, defensive assists, perfect dodges, and by converting half of the Adrenaline he spends. Once he reaches 120, he can shift into Visage of Wrath through his Chain or Ultimate, which grants him four stacks of Mountain’s Might. These stacks let him use EX Special ATK for free, refund Adrenaline, and provide a substantial boost to both Fire and CRIT DMG.
After performing two distinct EX inputs in this state, holding BA triggers Crushing Peak and then Toppling Mountain, a finishing sequence that consumes 120 Wrathful Fires and ends the state.
Because nearly all of his real damage is compressed into the Stun window, his gameplay heavily depends on generating enough Wrathful Fires beforehand. This makes his on-field parry essential—not for its Daze, but because it produces Wrathful Fires more efficiently than anything else.
Once Stun begins, Banyue activates Visage of Wrath, executes two EX Chains manually, then ends the window with his combo finisher and ultimate. He can automate this sequence by holding EX to fire all four basic EX Special ATK and the finisher, but this loses meaningful damage and buffs compared to doing the inputs manually.
In the end, his mechanics form a tight loop of preparation and burst: gather resources outside Stun, expend everything inside Stun, and his entire performance hinges on hitting this timing perfectly.

Banyue Skill Priority
|
Skill Type |
Upgrade Priority
|
Reasons |
|
EX Special Attack |
★★★★★ |
Maximize first. This is Banyue's core source of damage. Upgrading directly increases burst damage during i-frames. |
|
Core Passive |
★★★★★ |
Equally important as damage skills. Upgrading further increases the multiplier for Sheer DMG, boosting overall DPS significantly. |
|
Chain Attack/Ultimate |
★★★★☆ |
Secondary priority. The Ultimate is an important burst supplement with good upgrade returns, but lower than primary damage skills. |
|
Basic/Heavy Attack |
★★★☆☆ |
Consider mid-term. Part of the Rage generation toolkit, upgrades offer some benefit but aren't the top priority. |
|
Special Attack |
★★☆☆☆ |
Upgrade last. Main function is defense and triggering mechanics. Low damage scaling. Can be skipped if resources are tight. |
