The current Zenless Zone Zero meta heavily favours team compositions that focus on Attribute Anomalies. These Anomaly characters excel at applying powerful status effects—like Shock, Burn, Freeze and Shatter—to weaken enemies and trigger high-damage reactions.

These characters dominate the battlefield with precisely timed debuffs and synergy-based skills. Today, LDShop will highlight the top five anomaly characters in the game right now, ideal for players aiming to build meta-relevant teams.

Top5:Jane Doe

  • Jane has a very mobile playstyle, and she excels at agile dodging and consistent heavy attacks.
  • When Jane triggers Perfect Dodge, Defensive Assist, or performs a move that deals damage to the enemy, she accumulates Passion Stream. Upon reaching the maximum Passion Stream, Jane enters the Passion state.
  • While in the Passion state, Jane’s Physical Anomaly Buildup Rate is increased by 25%. She can deal with critical strikes and quickly build up the Assault debuff on all matters of foes.
  • If Jane’s Anomaly Proficiency exceeds 120 points, each extra point raises her ATK by 2, up to a maximum of 600. Her Ultimate can crowd-control enemies.
  • Her Assault DMG is very high and can do the CRIT.
  • She can serve as either the main DPS or a strong sub-DPS in Alice’s team.

Jane Doe

  • However, Jane’s damage mainly comes from rapidly building the enemy’s Anomaly Gauge and maximize heavy attacks—she lacks a direct active skill.
  • Her performance also depends heavily on the enemy. If the enemy is aggressive, she can use Perfect Dodges to trigger Passion Stream, which works great. But if the enemy has low attack frequency, Jane may drop out of Passion Stream.
  • She will be useless against enemies without an Anomaly Meter.

Top4:Yanagi

  • Yanagi is a fast-paced, stance-switching Electric Anomaly DPS who thrives on chaining combos and applying her own unique Disorder effect.
  • Yanagi’s biggest strength is her ability to trigger Polarity Disorder directly using EX Special Attack and Ultimate, dealing massive burst damage with a substantial base damage multiplier.
  • When the EX Special Attack hits an enemy suffering an Anomaly and triggers Polarity Disorder, the DMG multiplier increases to 25% of the original Disorder effect.

Yanagi

  • She’s especially effective against enemies vulnerable to Disorder, such as Notorious- “Dead End Butcher” in the current Combat Chapter 2.
  • If her Electric DMG activated after the 3rd, 4th or 5th hit of a Basic Attack, it activates Swift Ruten, speeding up the slashes while switching her current stance.
  • She can block enemy attacks while Swift Ruten is active.
  • Yanagi can serve as either the main DPS or a sub-DPS.
  • When Yanagi is the main DPS, she isn’t the strongest among all the anomaly characters.
  • As a sub-DPS, she is only effective when swapped in for quick bursts, unlike many other characters who can contribute passively off the field.
  • Yanagi may take a supportive role in Section 6 of Drive Discs, but in combat, she becomes your team’s spearhead into the fray.

Top3:Vivian

  • Vivian is undoubtedly the strongest anomaly sub-DPS in the current meta.
  • Her off-field capabilities make her an excellent second Anomaly unit for almost all Anomaly teams.
  • She is an ether anomaly character who specializes in blooming her teammates’ anomaly damage as well as dealing some decent supplementary corrosion related damage herself and with a blatant disregard for lower body inflight safety protocols.
  • Vivian also has a unique Anomaly Release mechanic that calculates additional Attribute Anomaly damage based on a percentage of the enemy’s status, significantly boosting overall output for Anomaly-focused teams.
  • After any squad member hits a target with an EX Special Attack, Vivian will consume 1 Guard Feather to launch Basic Attack: Featherbloom against the target, dealing Ether DMG, triggering at most once per use of a skill.
  • Featherbloom will always CRIT on hit, and they will also increase Vivian’s ATK by 12% for 12s.

Vivian

  • During combat, it’s important to keep Vivian’s Feathers fully stocked.
  • Her EX Special Skill, Combo Skill, and Ultimate all can restore Feathers—use them whenever available.
  • An often-overlooked detail is that Support Assault also restores Feathers, so you can frequently swap to Vivian’s “Flight of Fancy” along with Support Assault on the battle field and use it to keep her energies up.

Top2:Alice

  • Alice, the newly released physical main DPS, can deal heavy damage by fully filling up the Anomaly Gauge to cause assault from her core passive.
  • After any Physical Anomaly is triggered, Alice deals damage every 0.95 seconds of its active duration, similar to a DoT effect, making her damage output consistent and high.
  • Alice is also satisfying to play on the field. Her 5th Basic Attack launches her into the air with the stylish ‘Rabbit Kicks the Hawk’ action, granting her invincibility while airborne.
  • When the Finishing Move of a 3-stage charged Basic Attack: Starshine Waltz lands, it triggers a special Assault effect: Polarized Assault, dealing 100% of the original Assault DMG.

Alice

  • Her 3-stage charged Basic Attack can also be used to chain with teammates’ drives. Her EX Special Skill and Dodge Skill all trigger Perfect Dodge, so with good timing, she’s hard to take damage during combat.
  • After assault, Alice makes the flinch state deal damage over time. This is a small DoT equal to 25% of the original assault damage.
  • However, her best teams require other limited S-Rank Agents.
  • She also needs signature W-Engine to deal significant damage.

Top1:Miyabi

  • Miyabi stands out as the uncontested number one. She brings a storm of massive burst damage.
  • Among the anomaly characters, she leads in Anomaly buildup and damage, and compared to heavy-attack DPS, her raw critical damage is exceptional.
  • She can deal a lot of DMG with the Frostburn Anomaly. With the maximum Fallen Frost stacks, she is equipped with strong Basic Attack DMG.
  • With 6 points of Fallen Frost, you can go all-in without worrying about timing and her 3stage charged slash sync seamlessly with teammates’ skills.
  • Even without mastering complex inputs, simply using Miyabi’s 6 points of Fallen Frost yields excellent results.

Miyabi

  • Her Icefiire passive aids in combat ramp-up but reaching her peak potential requires significant investment in anomaly buildup and CRIT rate.
  • Miyabi is rather easy to play as her 6 points of Fallen Frost for 3stage charged slash are so invincible that players on mobile phone with less precise controls still can play smoothly without worrying about survival.
  • With more mastery of timing and combos, teams like Miyabi, Yanagi and Soukaku or Miyabi, Lycaon and Soukaku have tremendous potential.

  • By freezing the enemy’s Balance Gauge during their stagger phase, you can extend its duration. This allows Miyabi to land more Shimotsuk stance and 6 points of Fallen Frost for extraordinary heavy damages.

Conclusion

Of all the Anomaly characters are your specialists, wielding unique abilities that harness the power of Attribute Anomalies to burn, freeze, and shock your foes. Whether you're looking to shatter foes with ice or scorch them with fire, there's an Anomaly character suited to your playstyle.

If you have them, this meta is easy. However, in the next update, Seed and Orpheus are heavy-attack DPS, so the spotlight may shift to them. Stay tuned to LDShop for the latest Zenless Zone Zero updates!
